Expert Technicians and 17 Step Process for Thorough PTAC Cleaning

Our technicians undergo an extensive 10-day training at Renue Headquarters in Chicago as well as quarterly training locally. At training they learn how to effectively remove the units in the room and clean it thoroughly. This includes cleaning the outer coil, inner coil, blower wheel, drain pan, ensuring proper drainage of the drain hose, lower pan, and the lower drainage trap. Our technicians are trained to be able to identify the electronic areas unique to the brand of the PTAC unit to ensure the cleaning does not damage the electronics of the unit.
Our PTAC cleaning services can help you extend their lifespan, enhance their efficiency, and improve your air quality. We clean the coils, condenser, evaporator, blower wheel, catch pan and wall sleeve, to reduce energy costs, improve performance and leave each room smelling fresh. We also offer flexible billing and competitive pricing. We’ll help you work these services into your budget, even if you operate in a cyclical industry like hospitality.

Frequently asked questions about PTAC Cleaning Service

Our PTAC deep cleaning service is built for hotels, resorts, and condo buildings across Oahu and the neighboring islands. We focus on multi unit properties with in room PTAC units where air quality, guest comfort, and energy costs matter. This is not a residential one off service, it is designed for full building programs.

Yes. We require a minimum of 30 PTAC units per project. Our process, equipment, and crew sizing are optimized for hotels and condo buildings, so we are most effective when we can service multiple units in sequence. Smaller one off PTAC jobs are not a fit for this service.

Most hotels and larger condo buildings schedule PTAC deep cleaning every 12–24 months, depending on occupancy, location, and how heavily the units are used. Oceanfront and high humidity environments often benefit from annual service, while lower occupancy or better protected buildings can be on a longer cycle.

We remove or open the PTAC chassis, then clean coils, filters, blower wheels, drain pans, and accessible internal components to remove dust, mold friendly buildup, and debris. Exterior covers and surrounding areas are wiped down so the unit looks and performs better. The goal is improved airflow, efficiency, and cleaner air for guests and residents.

Units are cleaned in sequence and most rooms are only impacted for a short window while work is performed. In many cases we can even work in occupied rooms, because we remove the PTAC from the wall, bring it to a designated cleaning area outside the room, complete the deep cleaning there, then reinstall and test. We coordinate a daily list so you only block or stage rooms when truly needed.

Clean coils and blower components improve airflow and heat transfer, so PTAC units can reach set temperatures faster and run more efficiently. That supports better guest comfort, more consistent room temperatures, and can help reduce energy waste from overworked, dirty units. It also helps reduce odors that come from dust and moisture buildup.

Our focus is deep cleaning and restoring performance on units that are mechanically sound. If we notice units that are not cooling, heating, or draining properly even after cleaning, we flag them for your engineering or HVAC vendor to inspect. That way you get a clear punch list instead of surprise guest complaints.
